MEET THE OWNER
CLAIRE CROCKER
OWNER AND DIRECTOR
Claire is passionate about business! After developing her skills as a lawyer, Claire changed course and decided to pursue a career in business. She successfully completed her Masters of Business Administration and in 2009 launched her own business group. In the same year she took over ION Group from her father Leigh, so he could focus on creating incredible results for clients while Claire developed and managed the business. Her key focus is in developing Women in Business programs and in making strategic advice and mentoring more accessible via online training.
Claire also has business interests in the agriculture and food sectors. In conjunction with Cara Mottek, Claire has created the Australian Ethical Food Group which comprises an organic wholesale business at the Melbourne Markets at Epping, two retail shops (one in the Prahran Market and the other in South Gippsland), Farmers Markets throughout Victoria and Queensland, an Organic Cooking School and an Ethical Food Store/ Café.
This broader experience provides Claire with the unique ability to connect with and assist business owners across many sectors as she is an active business owner and operator as well as a strategic consultant.

LEIGH CROCKER
The founder of ION Group in 2000. Leigh began his career working with large corporations and then built his family business to become market leader in the hospitality industry. Leigh has worked personally with over 800 businesses across all sectors. Leigh is an experienced mentor and understands the financial, work-life balance and skills challenges required to operate a successful business in today’s environment.
NELLA GALANIS
Nella has a Bachelor of Arts (Multicultural Studies) and a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy). Nella joined ION Group in 2016 and has brought her skills in account management, finance, bookkeeping and compliance to assist the SME sector. Nella is passionate about women in business and developing strong strategies for future growth.
LIZ CROCKER
Liz is a registered APS psychologist with over 40 years experience. Liz specialises in working with individuals and teams to improve their productivity, work-life effectiveness and management and roles within teams. Liz provides individual and team mentoring support as required. She has worked extensively in cultural and organizational change management and also runs a psychology practice specialising in women’s health
CARA MOTTEK
Cara graduated from Bond University with degrees in Business Law and Social Science (Psychology) and also has a Masters in Climate Change from ANU. Cara specialises in brand management, marketing, social media and communication. She has a keen interest in food, women’s rights and energy security issues and works closely with Claire across their broader business group
